At Riverwood Studio, in Gqeberha, we use the traditional methods of pressing and preserving flowers. We take your beloved wedding bouquet or arrangement and preserve it, creating an everlasting piece of botanical art for you to treasure forever!
The founder, Kathleen Marais' passion lies in gardening, whimsical art, nature, and animals, particularly birds. The idea for her business emerged from her wishing she could preserve her special memories, such as her bridal bouquet and her first bunch of Mothers Day flowers. Her background as a wedding photographer also inspired her, as witnessing the beauty of wedding bouquets and knowing they’d be discarded soon after, lit something within her. She was inspired - and sought out to discover various methods for preserving flowers. Her passion can now be thought of as working with people to keep their special memories as a cherished art piece.
In the heart of a tranquil garden, where the whispering leaves and blossoming flowers create a timeless sanctuary, a passionate journey began. It was here, in the embrace of a garden nurtured with love, that Riverwood Studio - Everlasting Botanical Art found its roots.
Riverwood Studio’s essence lies in the art of preserving the beauty of nature. The founder’s journey was shaped by her previous career as a wedding photographer, where she often marveled at the exquisite bouquets adorning the hands of brides. It seemed unjust to let these treasures fade away. This epiphany led to the creation of a service that captures the essence of these bouquets, preserving their splendour for eternity.
Riverwood Studio’s mission is rooted in the desire to help people keep something very special, forever, in the form of botanical art. By preserving wedding bouquets and other botanical treasures, we enable our customers to hold on to meaningful memories and transform them into timeless art pieces that can be treasured for years to come.
We believe that clear and open communication is the foundation of a harmonious relationship with our customers.
We aim to keep our customers informed during the process of pressing and preserving, from start to finish.
Every bloom is precious and we treat each petal with the most gentle of care, ensuring the best outcome for your botanical keepsake.

Once we receive your flowers, we begin the delicate process of deconstructing them in order to press and preserve them affectively. After 10-12 weeks, your flowers will be ready to be reconstructed and placed into your chosen design. Once the design is approved, it will be sent off to our framers.
